Cranmer, a Partner with the law firm of Archer & Greiner P.C. and member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Apartment Association (NJAA), played a key role in the NJAA’s successful campaign for historic new utility rules designed to achieve significant conservation of potable water in New Jersey. Mr. Cranmer served as the NJAA’s attorney in drafting the official petition to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) that led to a recent BPU order permitting water “sub-metering” in newly constructed apartment buildings.

Jonathan Diego, CLAW ’93 (November 2010) was appointed as the Chief Municipal Prosecutor for the City of Atlantic City in early 2010. Chief Prosecutor Diego supervises four Assistant Municipal Prosecutors (AMPs), two paralegals and two legal secretaries. Also, in October 2010 Diego spearheaded, on behalf of Atlantic City, an extremely successful two day gun surrender program which resulted in 511 firearms being taken out of circulation in the greater Atlantic City region.

Hon. Julio L. Mendez CLAW '81 (October 2011) - Chief Justice Stuart Rabner today announced the appointment of Superior Court Judge Julio L. Mendez as assignment judge of the Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage. Judge Mendez has been on the bench for nine years. He was appointed by Gov. James E. McGreevey on July 19, 2002 and then reappointed with tenure by Gov. Jon Corzine in July 2009.

Brig. Gen Flora D. Darpino, CLAW '86 (May 2012) - Brigadier General Flora Darpino was inducted into the Rutgers University Hall of Distinguished Alumni. She is one of 204 alums who have been honored over the past 25 years. Brigadier General Darpino serves as commander of the U.S. Army Legal Services Agency and chief judge of the U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals. She has been a tenacious leader in the Army’s herculean Rule of Law efforts in Iraq, serving in combat and as the senior military attorney during the rebuilding efforts.
