Biography

Professor Sachs is a graduate of Williams College and the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a finalist in the moot court competition. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and subsequently practiced law in New Jersey for 35 years, focusing on the defense of product liability litigation. He has been certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a civil trial attorney and has served as a Director of the Products Liability & Toxic Tort Section of the N.J. State Bar Association. Before leaving practice to teach full time, he also was named on a list of New Jersey "Super Lawyers" by Law & Politics and New Jersey Monthly Magazine. He was an adjunct professor for a number of years at Seton Hall Law School, teaching Products Liability and New Jersey Practice. Immediately prior to coming to Rutgers, he was a Legal Writing Professor for three years at California Western School of Law in San Diego.
