Prerequisite: Evidence. Especially recommended for students who are or will be taking
Trial Advocacy or the Civil Practice Clinic.
Practical applications of evidence law and an examination of topics not covered in depth in the
basic Evidence course. Topics include the authentication and admission of a business record,
qualification and voir dire of an expert witness, impeachment techniques, making and
recognizing the grounds for objections, and other applications. Readings explore subjects such as
foundations of proof, evidentiary privileges, and DNA evidence.
