This seminar will contain two parts. In the first half, we will survey some of the most recent and important papers written in several diverse areas of legal philosophy: analytical jurisprudence, torts, contracts, property, and constitutional law. In the second half, we will concentrate a bit more narrowly on philosophical problems in the foundations of criminal law: punishment, culpability, and the rationale of various defenses.
