One of Rutgers-Camden’s greatest career resources are its alumni!  Students are eager to learn more about practice areas and settings and how to navigate the legal market and to become successful members of the legal community.  Listed below are some of theways you can help students and recent graduates successfully transition into the legal community.

Mentoring Program
Volunteer to mentor a law student or recent graduate!  Each year we match students and very recent graduates with mentors who help introduce their mentees to the legal profession.  We are always looking to add new mentors to this program and are particularly in need of out-of-state mentors to mentor students and recent alumni who plan to practice out-of-state.    To sign up for this program, please fill out a mentor form and submit it to Gwen Tolbert at gtolbert@camden.rutgers.edu or (fax) 856-225-6184.

Mock Interviews
Each Spring, alumni volunteer their time to give students feedback on their resumes and interviewing skills.  Employers of all practice settings are needed to conduct these on-campus mock interviews.  If you would like to volunteer your time to this program, please email Gwen Tolbert at gtolbert@camden.rutgers.edu.

Career Panels & Programs
The Career Planning OFfice sponsors a variety of programs and presentations throughout the year on substantives areas of law, practice settings and professional development issues.  If you are interested in speaking at a CPO
program, please send an email to careerplanning@camlaw.rutgers.edu.

Hire Rutgers-Camden law students or alumni
Hire a student for a school year full-time or part-time position, a summer position or hire a graduating student or a graduate for a full-time permanent position.  You can participate in our Fall or Spring on-campus recruiting programs or you can post a job online. Contact Gwen Tolbert for on-campus interview programs at gtolbert@camden.rutgers.eduTo post a job in our online job bank (Symplicity) click here.

Hire a Rutgers-Camden Student or Grad though the Per-Diem Program
The Per Diem Program matches employers with Rutgers Camden Law School students, recent graduates or licensed attorneys, who are available for temporary work at the rate of $15.00/hour for students,  $20/hour for recent graduates and $25/hour for admitted attorneys.    Firms may either sign-up to receive the booklet of resumes and pick the per diem attorney, law graduate or student best suited to their project, or firms may request the next available student or law graduate.  Click here to register for the program.

Fill out a Judicial Clerkship survey
Did you work as a judicial law clerk?  If so, students who are applying for clerkships would benefit from your advice.  To fill out a survey, login to your Symplicity account, click on “Clerkships” at the top left of your screen and then click on the “Clerkship Evaluation” tab.  If you do not have a Symplicity account, send a request to careerplanning@camlaw.rutgers.edu.
