Dr. Sam Lebovic will discuss press freedom during the New Deal during this lecture, sponsored by the Rutgers Institute for Information Policy & Law.
A graduate of the University of Chicago, where he earned his Ph.D. in history, and a former fellow at the Center for Cultural Analysis at Rutgers University and the Frederic Ewen Academic Freedom Center at NYU, Dr. Lebovic studies Twentieth Century history of law, politics, media, and culture.
His forthcoming book is titled, "Beyond the First Amendment: The Problem of Press Freedom in the American Century," which received the 2012 Paul Murphy Prize in the History of Civil Liberties from the American Society for Legal History.
