Construction Activity Report 1/5/09
To the Law School Community:
Let me first remind everyone that multiple shipments of furniture for Floors 2 and 3 in the West Building are being delivered this week. Please try to avoid using the West Lobby entrance on Fifth Street between today and Wednesday, January 7.
The furniture package for the student organization offices on the 2nd Floor includes wall-mounted storage cabinets. There will be some drilling required to install these units. The work should be completed either by late-afternoon today or sometime early tomorrow morning.
You may have noticed that two of the south windows on The Bridge now have mechanized shades in place. Unfortunately, the installer could not finish the work on the other three windows over the holiday break. We have been advised that the remaining window shades will be installed tomorrow, beginning at 8 am. During this work, the south side of The Bridge will we unavailable for use. The good news is that there should be minimal noise associated with the installation.
On Thursday, January 8, photographs will be taken of the glass artwork on The Bridge. There may be some limitations on use of this space due to lighting and camera equipment placement. In addition, light fixtures will be installed on the Upper Bridge ramp which connects Floor 4 East to Floor 6 West.
Finally, as announced previously, Classrooms 323 and 325 will be available commencing on Monday, January 12. And the move-in process for the three law journal staffs is still on schedule for January 12 and the tables in Seminar Room 404 were wired for electrical power over the holiday break. The pop-up outlets are now active for using laptops in the room.
Welcome back and Happy New Year!
