Construction Activity Report   2/9/07

To: The Law School Community

We have been informed by the general contractor that starting next Monday, February 12th, there will be intermittent drilling in the brick and concrete on the outside of our building. This is necessary to anchor the steel creating the new bridge across 5th Street to our existing building. This phase of the work will last a week to ten days. This should be the longest period of noise and disruption that we face in this project.

I deeply apologize for the inconvenience and interference with our regular activities. On the positive side after this work is done all the steel will been erected and a milestone will have been reached. I hope that we can mark that event, as well as allow me to apologize for the disruptions, by having a pizza party. I will announce the time and place next week.

I also want to announce that not only will we continue to send out email updates on future disruptions, but we are launching a blog to update you on the progress of the building and let you know about the building's design and features. You will be able to access the blog next week via the School's website.

Thank you in advance for your patience, and I look forward to getting through this phase of our project.
