Construction Activity Report   6/8/07

To The Law School Community:

At today's Construction Progress Meeting, I was advised that work is scheduled to begin sometime next week on attaching brackets to the sixth-floor steel beams on the north wing of the existing law building. These brackets will support the new curtainwall which will soon be installed on the building's east facade. The work will be noisy, because it involves drilling into the steel super-structure and the sound is expected to transfer throughout much of the building. On the other hand, the drilling won't be continuous, but will occur at intervals during the work day (roughly 7am to 3 pm). The Contractor's estimate is that the bracket-installation process will take one week to complete.

In addition, please be advised that the basement Men's and Women's Restrooms will be closed next week for scheduled construction activity in those areas. Appropriate signage will be posted on the entry doors.
