Construction Activity Report   7/23/07

Dear all,

I have been informed that the air in the law school building and the library building has been shut off since this morning. It may take three to four days to have the air back up. The MTW water pipe was ruptured early today and caused this problem.
Please see the detail note below from the director of facilities. We will keep you informed of the progress as we learn from the facilities.
We are having fans delivered to the classrooms and other areas that may need them right away.
Thanks,
Jay

All,
As you may know already the leak in the MTW piping that feeds your buildings became dramitically worse today. We were leaking about 150 gal/hr we are now at 1,000+ gal/hr. This has resulted in us having to shut down the MTW loop that feeds your buildings and as a result both buildings will be without A/C until we can bypass this leak. Since we knew this was a possibility we are relatively prepared for the bypass, it will just take some quick response and coordination in the field. My plan is to connect the new piping we have installed to date to the temporary piping that was installed as part of the Law construction. I have calls in to the contractors (Crown Pipe and Eagle Mech) to get this accomplished. Even if things go as expected it will take several days to accomplish - We will keep you informed as the information presents itself. Regards Bernie
