Class Day Celebration 2008

Rutgers Law-Camden Graduation The 2008 Rutgers Law Class Day Celebration is Wednesday, May 21, 5:30 pm Reception at the Courtyard of the Fine Arts building, 6:30 pm Ceremony in the Gordon Theatre. The events are as follows:

Class Day Ceremony:
Bring your family and friends to this celebration the evening before graduation day! There will be awards for outstanding academic achievement in subjects such as: Legal Writing, Intellectual Property, Bankruptcy, Family Law and Trial Advocacy. A significant portion of the class will be honored for participating in a variety of projects and competitions, service to the law school and leadership skills including: Pro bono legal work, Domestic Violence Programs, Marshall-Brennan Scholars, Hunter Moot Court and all Journals. We'll also present awards for service to the law school and leadership skills. Faculty and staff awards will also be presented.

Who will be recognized:
*student leaders
*members of journals and moot courts,
*award recipients. Some awards are based on grades and the name of those who get them will not be known until literally the last minute. Make sure that either your Law School Directory information or your Symplicity profile or both are up to date so that the Class Day Committee has a way to contact you during the exam period and before graduation to notify you that you have won an award, especially your cell phone information. As award winners become known, names will be posted under each category listed in the blue links on the right side of the page on http://camlaw.rutgers.edu/site/studentaffairs/gradhome.shtml.
*In addition, Honors, High Honors and Highest Honors graduates will be announced.

Timing: 5:30 - 6:30 pm
Reception by the Moot Court Room in the first floor of the East Law School Building
Ceremony in the Gordon Theatre

Attire:
Professional attire is requested for this event.

Keynote Speaker:
The Keynote Speaker will be the Professor of the Year. Students will be voting on the professor of the year during the Spring Semester.

Parking:
Parking for the Class Day Celebration
Parking will be available in Lot 14 (Third and Pearl Streets, by the Gym).

Special accommodations for Class Day Celebration and for Graduation Ceremony:
There will be reserved areas at the Gordon Theatre and at the Susquehanna Bank Center for those who need special accommodations. Spaces will be reserved for the entire party of graduates whose guests need special accommodations. Please contact Julia Pujols, jmpujols@camden.rutgers.edu on or before Friday, May 9 to make arrangements for guests who need special accommodations or assistance.Please note that neither Rutgers-Camden nor the Susquehanna Bank Center are able to provide wheelchairs.
